Iron deficiency won't kill you, especially if you're protected from wild animals by your tribe. Also, a long time ago we spent a lot less time having periods because we spent a lot more time being pregnant and were fatigued for that reason anyway, so we still needed protecting :-pQuincy Quincettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05958720030354418138noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4299615485839247736.post-87537168427374169222011-04-05T15:07:55.137+10:002011-04-05T15:07:55.137+10:00What I mean is - if menstruation is a standard thi...What I mean is - if menstruation is a standard thing that happens to all healthy pre-menopausal women, then why would iron deficiency be so freaking common? It makes no sense to me that a period would cause iron deficiency. The body would compensate somehow for the blood loss, wouldn't it? Persistent fatigue isn't a great quality to have, evolutionarily speaking.Miriamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10624532724820814499noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4299615485839247736.post-31331064969690789032011-04-03T07:28:58.982+10:002011-04-03T07:28:58.982+10:00Sabik, that is also possible :-p Regular blood los...Sabik, that is also possible :-p Regular blood loss is, I'm afraid, the more likely cause.
